Susanne E. Jalbert, Ph.D.
Walk-in's Welcome!
Currently a Senior Diplomat based in Afghanistan for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Susanne E. Jalbert, Ph.D., has invested her professional career in sustainable social and business change. Hired as a private sector officer, she utilizes her economic skills on behalf of the new Herat Consulate. Additionally, Jalbert is the gender point-of-contact and services on the inter-agency gender-working group. An over-arching economic development goal for Jalbert is to invest resources equitably through economic empowerment. Throughout her career interfacing with USAID-sponsored private sector development projects, she determines, directs and designs national models for economic intervention and has assisted USAID more on 88 assignments in 45 countries.
Although Jalbert is recognized in numerous countries for her innovative economic development initiatives, in Iraq she is known as architect and champion of the Iraqi Small Business Development Centers program (sbdc-iraq.com). She has influenced non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and women’s business association capacity building worldwide. Dr. Jalbert publishes and speaks frequently on the dynamic role of business associations, as well as on the global impact of women entrepreneurs, anti-trafficking campaigns, and entrepreneurial strengthening programs.
