Now in its 19^th year, the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce (CWCC) will be awarding the International ATHENA Leadership Award on April 20, 2016 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver. The ATHENA Leadership Model® was developed by ATHENA International through a grant from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation in 1982. Since the program’s inception, more than 7,000 awards have been presented in over 500 communities in eight countries. 
 
This model identifies eight distinct attributes that are reflective of women’s contributions to leadership: authentic self, relationships, giving back, collaboration, courageous acts, learning, fierce advocacy, celebration and joy. These personal traits, combined with the strongest aspects of traditional   leadership, such as taking risks, assertiveness and hard work, are the attributes of the ATHENA award to honor one successful and accomplished woman in our community.

Kristin D. Russell, Director, Deloitte Digital
Kristin D. Russell is a dynamic executive with more than fifteen years’ experience in leading large operations, services, and information technology (IT) organizations. She is a Director with Deloitte Digital and is leading the firm’s national Digital Government strategy. Formerly, Kristin was appointed by Governor Hickenlooper in February 2011 to serve as Secretary of Technology and Chief Information Officer for the State of Colorado. Kristin has received several awards including Government Technology's Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers, the Denver Business Journal CIO of the Year Award, and in 2015, she was recognized as one of the Top 25 Most Powerful Women by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
