Girls Rising: Building a Pipeline of Women Leaders
In its third year, this critical event will highlight what our community is doing to create a pipeline of young women into non-traditional careers.
We look forward to continuing this event in its third year in a virtual format. While we can't gather with the larger community in person, our intention behind the event remains the same: bring together members of the community to shed light on how we all can make a difference in building a pipeline of female leaders in non-traditional careers and roles.
We will also profile and award scholarships to some change-making, dynamic female students entering both non-traditional fields and non-traditional roles for women in the fields of:
By helping to lift women coming up behind us, we can start to see lives and industries improve for the better.
We are partnering with CWCC Young Professionals on this event to support the success of the next generation of female leaders.
Hollie Velasquez Horvath, Senior Director, State Affairs and Community Relations, Xcel Energy Hollie currently holds the role of Senior Director of State Affairs and Community Relations at Xcel Energy- Colorado. She leads a team who are responsible for managing the state and local government relations, business and community relationships, and local economic development activities for Colorado. She also manages the philanthropic arm of the company to support Colorado non-profit organizations with foundation grants, employee volunteerism and corporate sponsorships.
Hollie has received several community recognitions and awards for her leadership Recently she was honored as a Downtown Denver Partnership Champion. Other recognitions include Denver Business Journal 40 Under 40, Colorado Women’s Chamber Top 25 Most Powerful Women, and Denver Business Journal Top Women in Energy.
She is Chairman of the Board for Great Outdoors Colorado, a statewide organization spending $63 million annually to get kids outdoors. She also sits on the Downtown Denver Partnership Board and The Colorado Latino Community Foundation.
Hollie is happily married to her husband Bryon and is blessed with 11 year-old twins, Chase and Lillian.
