ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN - DENVER

CTL|Thompson’s Environmental Department is seeking a biologist to assist with Biological Evaluations and Environmental Site Assessments.  Experience preferred but not necessary.  Training is an essential component of this position and all levels of experience are encouraged to apply.  Areas of training will include topics relative to your responsibilities, as well as cross training of other areas to promote future growth and development within the organization. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Course work in wildlife biology and/or plant identification is required, with emphasis on local ecology
  • Proficient in report writing/word processing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of staff
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with the company automobile insurance policy guidelines

 

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

 

  • Provide environmental consulting services at the direction of project manager with a developing understanding of, and use of, in-house project management tools.  Consulting services for this position will primarily include biological evaluations and preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.  Depending on background, interest level, and/or client demand, consulting services may also include asbestos inspections, Phase II ESAs, and/or other services.
  • Perform field observation, historical research, analysis of regulatory file information, conduct interviews of property owners, and prepare reports.
  • Develop New Clients/Projects - In working with past clients or as the primary contact with new clients, listen for and seek out new projects that may exist or are being formulated. Participate in the development of proposals as required.
  • Be a Public Relations Ambassador - Be proactive in presenting and communicating the capabilities and strengths of the company to all stakeholders.

 

Full-time Environmental Technicians are paid between $17.00 and $22.00 per hour and enjoy a generous benefits package which includes medical, life and long term disability insurances.  Our offer will be based upon individuals experience and qualifications.  Voluntary benefits options include dental, vision, supplemental life, short term disability, a flexible spending account and others.  Retirement benefits include a 401K and profit sharing plan.
